LONGHUNTER 7, reenactors are a bunch of hams

All reenactors are a bunch of hams so naturally we went outside to get our pictures made both individually and as a group.

I have to admit we all looked pretty authentic to me. Of course, I am just learning what our appearance is supposed to be. Of all our pictures I was the only that was bowlegged, as usual.

Anyway Sergeant Steve pronounced us safe to go to the Battle of New Orleans, which will be held on the Chalmette Battlefield very close to New Orleans during the week of January 10-13th.

One last thing about the men I am going with to the reenactment. They are all veterans and have been doing all kinds of reenacting for over 15 years and some as many as 30 years. It will be a real treat to be allowed to reenact with these men.

About Civil War Reflections

Vernon has been a Civil War buff since childhood, but had been inactive in Civil War history for over two decades. However, in the early 1990s his interest was rekindled after watching Ken Burns’ “Civil War Documentary” on PBS. He particularly became interested in the Battle of Antietam (Sharpsburg) and decided to learn more about this epic struggle.
